SX-3800 vs. SA-608 SA-6800

I have owned an SX-3800 for a few years now and love it. However I recently picked up an SA-608 amp and I really like its clean look and simple design over my SX-3800.

Would I be losing much in sound quality and functionality if I replaced my SX-3800 with the SA-608 and a Squeezebox?

I'm using HPM-500 speakers. The power of the SA-608 seems plenty for my small space. I don't have any way to quickly switch back and forth between the SX-3800 and the SA-608 to test the quality difference, but I haven't noticed much difference so far.

I was thinking of replacing the SX-3800 with the SA-608 and a Squeezebox or similar for a tuner, and keep my record player and cd player, and I would also like to route my Tv/Dvd/Laserdisc sound through the SA-608 amp too.

Any thoughts on if this is a good idea or bad idea?

Bass quite thin sounding
Any thoughts on if this is a good idea or bad idea?
Had owned th SA-608 integrated amp 45w.
IMO The bass I had to set to 2-3pm.
When setting tone knobs to default 0 with
Loudness "off", I asked myself "Where's the Beef?" the SA-608 sound gives more respect to the high frequencies than the low.

The Sa-608 amp was using my Realistic T-70 70w
mimi tower 8ohm speaks.

IMHO. I'd stick with the SX-3800 ONLY!!!
