Pioneer SX-424 owners, I need help with a stereo indicator light issue. The light stays on constantly. The diagram for board AWE-008 shows the transistor’s emitter going to ground, but my unit has board AWE-008A, and the board layout and diagram don’t match. This is the stereo indicator light transistor. Anyone familiar with this revision and the correct configuration? Also, where can I get a clear diagram with Q numbers? Thanks!”

I'm working on the same issue with the same receiver now. The light WAS staying on EXCEPT with good station lock, but now is always on. The 008 diagram, as far as I can tell, is accurate. Would appreciate knowing if you have any luck, and what you're trying. My VM reads 8.8V on the light output all the time now.
If the tuner board has discrete components instead of the IC's its best to just live with the stereo light patina.
If you had a scope and signal gen that could modulate FM stereo, it might be worth a try.
My experience with those older discrete circuits, is after a afternoon of tinkering and alignment, only to find out it really indicates the station is not in stereo.
Here in Las Vegas there are several stations that do not broadcast in stereo.

This generator, and some extra hookups you'll need and will have to make or buy will get you there. Looks like some cheap fun to me.

I replaced the transistor that connects to the light and it worked, I would tell you the transistor number but the diagram is so shity it doesn't show anything
