SX-434 not working

Just purchased a pioneer sx-434 and was happy with it, till it started to mess up. I, new to the vintage recievers so I'm a rookie with the terms. It was working fine for about a hour, then all my speakers started to sound like they had static or cutting out. I detached them and reached them and the same issue. When I turn the balance knob left to right, they don't do it as much but still cut out. When I turn the loudness button off, they cut out, but not as much. Can someone help me here.

First thing to try is cleaning the Controls, it is amazing what it can fix.

Just read it and bought some of the cleaning supplies. I'll try and clean everything when it shows up. I appreciate the heads up. If I wanna recap it down the road, is it wise to buy used ones or new ones? If new ones, we're can I get them?

Could be dirty controls but it sounds more like the usual bad / noisy transistors. This is a great receiver to learn on because the boards are easy to access and it's a breeze to repair. Do a search in the Pioneer forum, pretty sure the transistors / caps list exists for this one.
