I have never serviced one. 9090 might be more reliable or parts/controls easier to obtain. For all you know you might like the Sansui more, then what.
Cmon Max. If it sells, you will always wonder. I’ve got a 9930 here and it looks mysterious.
But I know , it’s a tough trigger to pull.
Yes, I work for a family owned R2 certified electronics recycler. I just moments ago got a call from our warehouse manger telling me we just received a nice black stereo from one of our Earth Day recycling events - a black sx5590 in great shape! I'm a Marantz/Fisher/Sansui guy, but I have a feeling I'll be loving' this thing. Someone was clueless to say the least!Everyday a few more of these high end Receivers find their way to E-waste and get scrapped by unsuspecting owners. This only increases the value of ones remaining. I'm hugging my SX-1050 tightly and constantly tell my kids that if they scrap it after I'm gone that I'll come back and haunt them for the rest of their days.
Yes you will! Im still lovin' my SX-1250 since 1976.Yes, I work for a family owned R2 certified electronics recycler. Congratulations on the SX-5590! Not many were made, some say less than 2500 were ever made. Thanks! Being that it was collected during an Earth Day recycling event, it wasn't gently handled during the "disposal" process. It got a little banged-up, a bent knob and a couple of switches. Already ordered a new switch cap for the loudness lever. It'll be my winter of 27 project. I'd restored a pair of power-hungry AR3's a few years back and need something to properly drive them - this thing might be the ticket.Congratulations on the SX-5590! Enjoy your SX-5590!
How's it working ?He’s asking $2k for it. I did a little price checking recently and they varied widely.
