Sx-636 Dial Pointer Not Lit - HELP

I recently purchased a SX-636 receiver with one small problem - the dial pointer is not lit (I think it should be lit orange/red??) when the unit is switched on and in any function. ALL lamps appear to be working as the dial scale is a nice uniform blue color and all indicator, tuning, and signal strength meters are well lit. Looking at the service manual, I am confused as to how the dial pointer is supposed to be lit since it has no separate lamp. Is it supposed to light up? If so, how? I've seen pictures online with it lit and others with it not lit.

The unit is in excellent cosmetic condition (not a scratch anywhere) and works extremely well except for the dial pointer not being lit up.

Thanks!

take a picture of the dial pointer and post it, it probably uses a sub-mini (grain of wheat, 2mm?) 8v 35mA or micro lamp folded into a little metal box with a rubber boot around the lamp inside of the little metal box. 4mm may be too large. the 828 uses a 2mm.
