SX-680 electrical earth ground

I was wondering if I should ground my Pioneer SX-680 receiver. My Pioneer turntable has a ground wire that runs to a Ground screw on the back of the receiver however after that how does the turntable/receiver ground? The plug is only a standard two prong plug with no ground.

I was thinking of getting a plug that is just the receptacle ground plug and wire it to the ground post/screw on the back of the receiver. Is this ok?

What do you do if your receiver isn't grounded by electrical plug? Thanks!

Earth ground is not required.TT just needs to be grounded to your recievers chassis ground.
 
Thanks, I ask because I have been having problems with lots of static (ie. picking up a record off after playing and it just being crazy loaded with static). I currently have my turntable power plugged into a power jack on the rear of the receiver, should I have this go into normal plug or is it fine where it is.
