of course all the air follow you can get is the best, compromise one has to make for a fancy wood case. lots of legacy music on cassettes? so which tuner works the best for you.

Yes - I do have quite an inventory of cassettes about half of which I recorded in the late 70's and early 80's some of which sound surprisingly good still. With regard to tuners I would have to say that at this point the tuner on the Sansui G-7500 is the best that I have heard likely equal to the tuner in a Sherwood S-7100 that I no longer have. My location downstairs isn't the best and I have tried a number of antenna's but like for like the G-7500 has been the best for sure. I have a plan to get a better antenna put up outdoors and see what that might do but not likely until the spring. I base my judgments on Jazz 91.1 in Toronto which has a very strong signal in my area.
 
Interesting, the Sansui G-7500. I have one too.
I can advise on some antenna solutions. do you want a tower,rotor etc?

Not really sure what I can do as I’m in a condo community with various rules as well as the fact I really don’t want to undertake a big project for FM. What do you think about a dipole mounted on the side of the house outside with coxial running from outside to the receiver? I do have a balum.
 
A dipole outside is better than inside, the higher the better, using the balun at the antenna and running RG-6/U coax will work okay for what it is.
It can be helpful to mount the dipole on a wooden cross so that you can rotate it a bit for best reception.
I use one in the loft but am considering the one from Newark below.
I saw in the princess auto flyer a small amplified antenna on sale a few weeks again. said it did FM, but was meant more for digital TV

best deal going for a good FM antenna. It is directional and is best used with a rotor.
