System Control question on Kenwood stack system

Picked up a Kenwood stack from a buy+sell place.

RC-95 remote control
KT-56 tuner
KC-105 preamp
DP-560 cd player
KM-205 amp

I would really like to use the remote control for its intended purpose. However, i cant find ANYWHERE how to connect it.

I connected the preamp to the cd player and tuner with male-male headphone cables, and they work as expected. (select a station with the tuner, preamp switches to the 'tuner' input, press 'play' on the cd player and it switches to 'cd')

But, i cant figure out any sort of deal that works with the remote. Does it use a special cable of some sort??? How does it function?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I found a little information at the Kenwood USA website. The have operator manuals for some of their later equipment. I was only able to find information on the DP-560 CD player. There is some information on page 11 regarding the hook up. It does not really explain how the remote control is used. You may be able to get more information by contacting Kenwood directly. Good luck.

I don't believe the KC-105 is remote controllable...what kinds of functions do you have on your remote control? If it's all standard transport functions and no controls for things like volume, mute, and input selection I'd say your system is working as intended...

Just a thought, as I've never spent any time with the Spectrum series stuff..

MUHAHAHAHAHA i got it working!!! i must have had the jacks in the wrong plugs/wrong order. All functions are operational! Thank you very much tcdriver for that manual/diagram - its what helped me hook it up properly.

Wow, great news! I am glad that my post was able to help you figure out what you needed to do. Good listening! :music:
