I wonder if anyone knows the value of an old system that I have. It is an Ampex 901 tube type reel to reel, with matching Ampex 2010 tube type speakers. It is in the "samsonite" cases.

Ampex gear commands good money on the market these days
They should be filled with great Telefunken and Amperex bugle boy tubes, themselves worth good money
Your best bet is to put them on that auction site and let the market decide what they are worth
That's how we roll here
Some pictures would attract more attention and answers/opinions
Of course condition is everything to price but a Ballpark would be $200 for the deck and $150 each for the speakers
Problem is that would be retail and collectors all want bargains

Purchase price has nothing to do with ''value''....if I got lucky and found,say a McIntosh Mc240 with an MX110 for $1,000.00 the combo is still ''worth'' over $3,000.00.

Ampex tube gear is worth something. The exact price is best determined by looking at all recent ebay completed sales and developing a god ballpark figure. I once sold an ampex tube r2r machine that I didn't need anymore. I think I got $100 for it and it went fast.

Just as a follow up.... I listed these on ebay and fetched $600 for all 3 pieces. Thanks for your assistance
