systemdek IIX

I found a systemdek IIX with a Linn Basik arm for sale locally. Problem is its 220/50hz. I can take care of the 220 voltage with a transformer but does this deck time the speed directly from the line voltage? I would think it would run fast on 60hz. Or does this deck have an internal reference?

Thanks

I don't think you'll be able to convert it easily. The pulleys are different between the 50Hz and 60Hz models. There was a different power supply that came in some of the later Dunlop versions. That version had an electronic speed control based on the Linn vahalla boards. If it's one of those models it may be able to convert the frequency for you. I'm not entirely sure about that.

The typical Systemdek IIX had a very simple power supply that feeds the line AC frequency to the motor which will set the speed of the motor.

I did read a post from a gentleman who tried to convert a european model to 60Hz and couldn't make it work. If you wanted to have a different motor pulley machined you could do it.
