Systemdek vs. Spacedeck

I’m hoping that some of you might have some feedback or advice to offer on a potential turntable trade I’m contemplating. I’ve been a happy Systemdek IIx owner for the better part of a decade and I’ve done some extensive upgrades to the table. It’s currently outfitted with a Mose / Hercules II external PSU, an Audio Note acrylic platter, and a Alphason Xenon tonearm that’s been tuned up and rewired by Johnnie7 at Audio Origami. The table also has a fantastic ceramic bearing and a new Premotec motor and pulley.

As such, I have an opportunity to trade for a nice Nottingham Analogue Studios Spacedeck. Going from photos, I’m fairly certain the Spacedeck has the “heavy” upgrade and a 10” Ace Space arm.

Does anyone here have any experience with either or both tables? I’m a novice when it comes to the Spacedeck - love the concept of the table and the look, but it’s a completely different kind of turntable, and my experience has primarily been with suspension tables. Stability isn’t an issue, as the table will be mounted on a very heavy stand that sits on a concrete slab.

Any feedback on this trade would be much appreciated!

The Notts is a huge upgrade over the Systemdek (I don't have a Spacedeck, but I do have an Interspace / heavy-platter which is about 70-80% of the way towards a Spacedeck). It's a bit odd getting used to spinning up the platter by hand, but it does a great job of keeping the noise down. In my experience the Nottingham was a significant step-up from both a Rega Planar 3 (with an Origin Live arm, motor upgrade, and bearing upgrade), and a Ariston RD11s with an Ariston Enigma tonearm.

I say go for it!

I’ve officially taken your advice - picked the Nottingham up this morning and am in the process of setting it up. I’m not entirely sure, but this might be a Hyperspace, and not a Spacedeck... either way, I think I got a pretty killer deal!

Photos? It'd be easy to tell.
