Tablet or?

The condescension is palpable...par for the course. My Galaxy A7 tablet, which is current and in production, must be an outlier.

By the way, no one has suggested that there is any difficulty in obtaining a DAC with USB input. The issue on the table is USB output from a tablet (non-Apple).
For Android devices that weren't setup from then factory to support digital audio output over USB natively, you may just need to install the USB control app: https://www.extreamsd.com/index.php/products/usb-audio-player-pro

And from there, it should be as simple as plugging in a USB cable to your DAC.

Sounds neat! Would like to learn more about what is needed for this. Is there a guide or thread you might recommend?
I got the Raspberry Pi Zero W. It's available on its own for about $10, or as a kit . I got the Canakit, for about $35. It comes with everything you need. Here's my thread that started as a DAC discussion, but evolved into somewhat of a Raspberry discussion. I know there are others here and on other forums who are much more experienced with Pi than I am, but I'd be happy to explain my process.

I use my Ipad as a source for digital streaming music via it's headphone jack to the Aux input on my vintage tube gear and it sounds remarkably good. I have read that Apple uses high quality DAC's in most of their devices. They should given what they cost. I stream via ethernet to my old Onkyo SR-906 and the DAC's in the Onkyo are definitely better, the music sounds warmer when played through it vs. using the Ipad directly. I think I may give the Schiit MODI 3+ a try as it seems reasonably priced and hopefully will provide the same improvement in sound the Onkyo provided. Will see how it goes!

And you may need an OTG cable, and you may need a powered hub. I've known some pretty smart six year olds, but none smart enough to pull this off. On the other hand, just about all of them had better manners.

I think the problem with tablets and phones is number of input / outputs. One USB connection. Consider how many input/outputs do you need? One to go to DAC one for power. I like another for mouse.
So for me the solution is laptop.

I have a 1Mii B06 Bluetooth receiver for the input for my stereo. I use an echo show 8 running Amazon music. I’ve run it 20 hours straight and not heard the same song twice. Alexa, next.

As computers and tablets evolve the audio specs evolve, too. Whether you are using USB or Blue-tooth. Some computers have advanced to 24/192 with their internal DACs some have not. Some have have advanced to Blue tooth 5.0. You have to search and see what you have and what the new computer/ tablets have. You really don't need anything over 24/192 unless you are going to use Apps to balance levels or change tonal characteristics of the original recordings. The more you tamper the more bit depth and bandwidth and sophisticated filtering you need to prevent digital distortions creeping into the audible spectrum. No tampering 16bit/48 KHZ should be plenty. Though I do prefer 24 bit.

That would plug Into my amp?

Yes with one of these or through USB if needed.

I'm using it right now outside with my garage/backyard system for one of the last times before winter. I'm feeding it 24/96 over ldac codec through the es100 from my s10+ and it sounds sublime.

I've used this for almost 4 years at least 8 hours everyday as my headphone/iem source at work and in my truck through aux cable.
But the best sound comes from any of my home systems where its dual Akm4375 dacs can shine.
AKM tunes all their dacs to what they call Velvet Sound which they may as well call Sansui Sound because it is a clear and smooth tube like sound with tight deep bass that is never bloated.

One of the best features is its app that let's you control the volume eq and much more from your sweet spot up to 100 feet away.

You have 30 days to return it so I suggest you try it, i don't think you will be returning it.
Good luck

Edited to add that it has a flat natural sound that rarely needs eq, I just wanted to show the apps eq features.
