Happy Friday! I have a question regarding TAE Ronette stylus/needle compatibility. I've done a few online searches, but still am unsure of what I'm looking at.
A local seller has a lot of "2-300" TAE Ronette styli/needles. They come in a red case with multiple drawers, I'm assuming from a parts/repair shop of days past.
My main question is this: could any of these styli (is that the correct plural of "stylus"?) be used for, say, a Shure cartridge? Or, is this a brand that made their own carts? Another possibility that crossed my mind; perhaps these are needles that were used on some of the older, less "delicate" units? He wants $75 for the lot, case included. So, basically, my two questions are:
1) What are the chances that I'd have a use for these? (I currently have a couple Technics sl-xx tt's, as well as my dream-in-the-works Dual 1229.
2) If not applicable to anything remotely like what I have/ will acquire, would this be a worthwhile investment to sell them individually or even to flip the entire set to someone who would have a use for them?
The guy selling the set seems to have little concern as to whether the set sells or not. I also suspect that he isn't much into online communication.....just getting his attention and arranging a possible time to meet (this Sunday) has taken over a year!
I am going to try to upload a picture now. ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!
