I have a Technics SL B2k and I'm happy with it. Just picked up a mint Sanyo TP 625 and love the look of it. Ordered a new belt for the Sanyo and I've yet to hear it up to speed. Anyone have any reviews on the Sanyo TP 625? Also, what's the better table?

I would imagine there is very little in it so if were me I would take the Sanyo as it a beautiful looking deck. And if I remember rightly it was the turntable featured in the film Labor Day with Josh Brolin.
 
The Sanyo is a CEC Japan made AC motored belt drive. Very good tonearm, very nicely built, reliable and simple to maintain. Performs very well in good order. CEC AC motored belt drives are very recommended. The Technics has a DC Matsushita motor, and the servo IC is unobtainable, and they often have issues with speed or noise. And no parts for the motor. If you have one, make sure the power supply and motor control caps are in top condition, either can kill your motor. This Sanyo's better in every area on belt drive compared.
 
Sanyo was known for calculators at the time, but they launched a "Plus Series" of superb audio components. They hoped to compete with High End US/UK brands, and sonically they did — but not in the marketplace, where the brand had no credibility. Any of those Plus units are worth checking out, though at their current age they'll need some TLC.
 
Thanks all. Waiting on the belt to arrive. Got a 2m red to mount. Gonna shelf the Technics for the moment. The Technics was giving me speed issues. I thought the Technics SL B2K was an upgrade from my Toshiba SRF 451, but again the speed issues killed me. Thanks again for the info everyone.
