Hi,
Tandberg TCD-330 has a problem with a left channel (:
Once it plays left channal louder, once a bit quieter.
What is a strange, when I switch cassette to other side it plays well. (cassette plays well on other deck, so its good)
i disassembled the deck, put new oil to capstans and I have serviced the transport as shown on
the tcd330 still has this problem.
any advice?

That deck has dual capstans. If the belt and engage mechanism as well as the pinch rollers are not in good shape the tape could cup when the transport is engaged. When you turn the tape over to play the other side the area of the tracks might react differently to any issues or stresses on the tape associated with the transport affecting one channel but not the other, tape to head contact. I've seen it.

thank you
so I can try to change the belt as well the pinch rollers, but they look well. Can I check the condition of the pinch rollers somehow?

I hope this is not a problem with caps, only with a transport

If the pinch rollers look and feel good they probably are but the belt can look fine but be a problem. Belts change over time, have seen issues with dual capstan decks resolved with a new belt. Clean all drive surfaces of course. It does not present as a problem with caps. Those are fairly complex decks with that distinctive Tandberg style, classy.

Most boards just pull out if you have to do the recap. Don't see that as something to terrible.

yes, but firstly I prefer the solution without recapping :)
today it plays as it wants. now well, women t before had a problem, but I snapped one button and it is ok. Hope all that said @spicer is right!
real horror, as I really like this deck

i had a pioneer high-end ct-93 for a moment, and for me it even didn't sound half good as the tcd. the sound from it is really amazing.

thank for all the help and replies, I ll keep you inform - if any has the same problem in future, maybe it helps too.

I have one. It had a weak left channel. Check the tape guide after the left capstan. Mine needed some adjustment. Saw top edge of tape being slightly compressed.

Its a great deck.
