Tangent TM1 - KEF Drivers - Anyone?

These look sweet. First time I have heard of Tangent! Look to be KEF B200 SP1014's and the T27's. Bet they sound awesome. Anyone have any experience with these?

Yeah... they have that classic "narrow and deep" cabinet... built with English Style from years gone past... and ohhhh those stands. That is as "vintage" as it gets! :thmbsp:

Early vintage Tangents were very nicely designed, built, and sound smoothly British.

Just tested out a set I recently purchased and they are certainly the best I've had so far. The stage is wiiiiide!!!!! Appear to be optimised for Rock/Jazz with and the base has depth. These will NOT be leaving the shop! They look all original so am expecting original caps when I open em up.Only fly in the oinment are the grill covers. Am really struggling to get the right replacement material. Can anyone recommend a decent source that doesn't involve ebay?????

Most fabric stores have a stretchy black fabric that works well. Ask them if they have any speaker fabric? You wouldn't be the first to ask them that.

Here are the Tangent RS8s I used to have. I put a straw basket on top to ensure nothing was placed there. I didn't have the grills. Very good sounding speakers. I preferred my Kef 105s though.

Had a set of TM1's in Corps in Hawaii when most were buying Japanese speakers with huge (muddy IMO) woofers. Best friend spent more on ESS AMT1bs with Heil air motion transformer tweeters which I liked too (and werent muddy) but the tweeter had its own "personality". I loved the tight bass of the tangent and really preferred them to any I heard. I did blow woofs or crossovers several times from cranking as they did not seem to distort.
