I'm considering a speaker upgrade but seek some advice as pretty much my last step before committing to the Tannoys. I run a (recent upgrade) Perreaux R200i with my Quads.
Will Tannoy XT-8Fs give me a significant upgrade? I love the Quads and was especially impressed at how they still pump bass it low volume levels, although it is only with other people around that I often experience low volume.
I'm more than happy with the Quads but will I be ecstatic if I buy and wire up the Tannoys? I do like decent bass and have found my other speakers benefit from adding the budget sub I have, but the Quads do not sound better with the sub's bass. Although I do plan to use the sub for HT after a renovation when I have a large room to play with so perhaps the Tannoys will much better suit the larger room?
My real question is will there be a large difference or just (presumably at least) a small increase in sound quality. Very subjective questions but perhaps some of you can help here?
