Tarnish or rust removal from MC 2105 cabinet screen

I have this cabinet for a MC 2105 and it has these spots which I am not sure are rust. I tried wiping it off but it didn’t work. My question is, can I sand it down and get rid of the spots or is it coated with a paint? The pics show the issue. I don’t want to ruin the look of it. Thanks.

I need to do the same to my cabinet. Where did you purchase the paint? Any chance you have a picture of the can? I'm having trouble finding Krylon Bronze locally.

I bought the RustoleumMetallic Champagne Mist from Lowe’s. It is spot on.
