Tascam CC 222 mk2 CD player only works when it wants to.

Hello.

Ever since I paid $150 for a Tascam cc-222 mk2 I have been having problems with the CD player.

If I turn the CD player on after a while of it not being used, the unit will spin the cd and try to read it for a while. After about 20 seconds of reading the tascam will give up and say "disc error" and eject the cd . If I re insert the cd when it ejects then after about 5-10 times of me doing that, then the tascam will finically successfully read it.

Once I get the CD player to work it will work fairly well until I shut it off for a while, or switch the cd. After I do that I have to go threw the process of it giving me the error 20 times before actually working.

According to the owners manual, disc error means there is a problem with the disc and not the player, but when I try any different cd I always get the same result.

Here is a link to the owners manual. I can not find an actual service manual.

Something is cosmetics wrong I'm just not sure what. When ever I turn it on, it takes about 5 mins for the player to finally load the cd.

I have the Tascam CC 222MKII and its CD player/recorder is a slot loaded design, not drawer loaded. And remember, if its a Tascam, it will break sooner then expected.

Never again will I buy anything associated with the brand.

Tascam sadly has declined in reliability over the last few years. I will likely be getting a flash based recorder soon and using that option.
