Tascam Reel to Reel

Are Tascam 32 or 34 reel to reel descent decks? I know Tascam is a good name in decks, I'm just "reel" familiar with what is good in reel to reel decks. I don't have any r2r right know, so there is no compatibility issues. Both are in decent condition, and I will certainly listen to them before purchase. I have only seen pics so far, but will also look at the heads for wear.

Opinions please

Yep - they're both good deck - if you don't need a 4 channel deck - go for the 32.

(Tascam is the semi-pro line from TEAC)

Check condition of heads, and tape guides, wear grooves or open gaps aren't good. Check condition of motors and motor bearings. Either of these with issues can be very expensive to repair.

I have only seen pics so far, but it looks very clean. It will probably be next week before I can check it out closer. What is a fair price range for the 34? I don't this is violating forum rules.

(Please move to Dollars and Sense it it is.)

I got the 34B. Looks fantastic. Now I need to figure out who is the odd deck out in the system.:scratch2:

I would not odd out anything that has life left in it. Especially a couple of old Tascam R2Rs...
YES they are excellent machines.
Enjoy them both, they aren't women under the same roof.

The odd deck out will get moved to another set up. I can't convince myself to actually get rid of any decks.
