As it seems to happen so often, the complex parts of the job are easy and the simple parts are challenging.
Pictured are the 1.9 or 2mm (another thread claims they're 1.9mm but mine measure out at 2mm even) brass pins that hold the coil holders in place. The bottom one made it out in good shape but the other three took on a few degrees of trouble as I removed them. You can see that the tapered ends are flattened to a degree, and the top one has picked up a bit of a curve.
I know they don't do much, but I try not to leave problems for the next guy (especially as I am usually him). As these to not appear to be for sale anywhere, I'm going to have to deal.
I could take an emery cloth to them, I could use some white lithium grease or similar to get them to slide in a bit easier, or I could ask a machinist to make me four new ones. I think the curved pin is going to be a problem no matter what.
Also I can't remember whether the point goes down or up, so please help if you remember. Otherwise, what's the best play here?
