Ok ! It’s either go do the dishes or make a nuisance of myself here and start a new thread.
I'm recovering from a fractured hip. I’m bored to death and have out stayed my welcome at other forums so now I’ll pick on you folks.
I’ve researched repair and recap threads for the Teac A-4010s and have found a great deal of information I’ll use later. There is very little mention of specific details in recapping the power supply of the Teac A-4010s
I’m interested in what others have learned at this end of the RTR, things to avoid, problems in sourcing components, possible upgrades and changes to original design/mods. Example; I know that many times the sourcing of the same values of capacitors that are unavailable can be a problem. What do I substitute ?. Additionally , after nearly 50 years certain areas of the design have revealed it’s self as a point of failure or where improvement can be made.
I’d like to avoid getting into the recording amp recapping because it’s a separate unit and will be a project for the future.
