TEAC LP-R400 - Help With Removing Platter Mechanism

I have been trying to figure this out for a while now and am currently at a loss. I am trying to get to the speed adjustment screws, which are located somewhere beneath the platter. I was only able to find a video on removing the mechanism from a different TEAC model, to which you can see the guy lift it up pretty easily and flip a latch to get it to release the rest of the way. However, for me, it only lifts a few inches before catching on what appears to be some sort of anchor point on the left side. The right side comes up pretty well when you lift from the tonearm, but the left continues to stick from what looks like a spring. I’ve tried opening the player from the back panel, as I’ve seen some people say you can access the release latch from there, but I don’t think that I am seeing it. Will I have to resort back to brute force? Any help and suggestions would be MUCH appreciated!!
