Teac V-970 or C2

Hello,
I need to choose between the Teac C2, which is a much older unit and the newer V-970 unit with remote control. What would you suggest?
Also they are going at $60 each. Good deal or not? The C2 looked rather dirty and well used.

IIRC, these are tape decks? If so, try the tape forum one level up on the AK menu
