Teac X-10R Won't energize capstan motor

I bought a Teac X-10R with a bad capstan motor it had actually burned up the brush assembly so it was not repairable. I have a good working Teac X-7R with a good working capstan motor so I replaced the bad motor on the X-10 with it and it will not energize. When I press play button the pinch rollers lift and the take up reels remove tape slack but no capstan motor operation. Does anyone know what might be causing the capstan motor to not function? I checked all connections and fuses.

you'll need the schematic for both decks and confirm the wiring is the same.

Many parts are interchangeable between the two decks. Not sure if the wiring is the same or not. Youl also may want to check at tapeheads.net and post there. Quite a few knowledgeable folks there.

Thank you will try that web site. The part number for the servo board and motor are the same for both X-7R and X-10R. So it is an issue with the X-10R deck.
