Technical Sheet accuracy(or lack there of?)

OK, so here is the question. In your experience, how accurate are the Technical Sheets from Infinity? Can it be assumed that the Technical Sheets reflect the latest production revision?

Here is why I ask. I have now recapped three sets of the vintage Infinitys (RS5B, RSIIIB and Kappa 6). In each case, the technical sheet has matched what I found in the speakers. I have read other post regarding how Infinity changed components during production runs. I can attest to that. The RS5Bs I recapped had different component manufacturers between them. Granted the serial numbers on them are spread pretty far apart but the component values are the same in both and match the Technical Sheet.

As to the second question, I am making a logical assumption that the Kappa 6s I recapped where at or near the end of the production run as a date sticker on the crossover showed Sept '91. Again, like the others, the crossovers as built were a match for the Technical Sheet.

If the Technical Sheets do indeed reflect the latest revision/ build spec for a given model, would it be suggested when recapping to use the latest specs even if they differ from the as-built crossover? For example, I am getting ready to recap my Kappa 9s and if I find components are different from what was built would it be better to "update" to the latest specs or recap as is?

I've wondered that myself, is the "official" schematic the last version.
Interesting thought about up dating to the last schematic especially if it differs from crossovers that are different yet are known to be original/unmolested.
I'll let someone way more well versed in crossovers and their components comment on that.

Here's one of the more obvious examples of Infinity making revisions, the RS 1.5, evidently there were revisions A-H. That's a lot of revisions IMO

In this case at least, it would seem the "official" schematic would be the last one?
 
I don't have any examples at the moment, but I seem to recall seeing mistakes that were obvious, such as using the same part number for two obviously different drivers. Honestly, I'd use them as a reference, but if your crossover is all original, I'd go with what's currently in there.
 
I have a pair if RS1s. Subsequent versions were RS1a and RS1b. I have compared what was in my original RS1s with the Tech Sheet for the RS1bs, and since the drivers are the same, can see no reason not to upgrade my speakers to the published RS1b schematic.
