Technics 1200....and New Balance Shoes?

Well, I see a possibility for balance, but I'd be more reassured if I could see that they came in pairs. I am also unsure if they would emit high pitched squeals if somebody tried to wet play them. The fact that they would be equally at home in fifty and sixty cycle environments should give them extra wide appeal. :dunno:

I can't be the only one who thought this was going to somehow be about incorporating New Balance sole material as an isolation/anti-vibration device....

No, but if you cover them in heat shrink tubing, it might reduce unwanted resonance as you run.
 
Panasonic really needs to get the hint that they should bring the 1200 back; maybe the semi and full auto variants of the 1000 line too while they're at it.

Nothing has really changed. It became more and more difficult for Panasonic to acquire several of the analog components used in the SL-1200 and the sales figures for new turntables were not high enough to justify the ever increasing costs of that proprietary hardware.
 
The automatics won't be revived. And the SL-1200 Mk II would be very expensive due to the cost of making new tooling (if the revival is worthwhile). Japanese hand labor is not cheap to do with high quality parts and precision engineering and build.
 
I've heard a pair....dark and closed-in, lacking in "air". They don't sound nearly as good as my Jordans.
