Technics 1200 mk2 feet/foot .. WASHERS

A while back I upgraded my Technics 1200 mk2 feet to Isonoe's. Now that I am booking more turntablists and starting to get into it myself, there is a realisation that these are only good for mixing and not for scratching.

I looked at the new aftermarket foot options and there are MANY. So for the sake of consistency I decided to buy NOS and second hand OEM Technics feet (I have 3 OEM Technics 1200 feet left, used 5 to upgrade a Vestax PDX-A1S' feet after a couple broke.. probably not the smartest idea - so I still need 5 more).

In all the images I see online for either second hand or NOS, none of them include a washer that sits on the thread, on top of the rubber top of the foot. My old (early 1980's) 1200 mk2 definitely came with them.

Did they remove these for replacement feet or in later versions of the mk2 or later models?

Any advice for where I could find the washers, or a suitable aftermarket replacement? I'm not sure these specific size washers are easy to find for me locally (in Australia at Bunnings etc).

That's awesome, you just confirmed what Kevin from Kabusa just pretty much said in an email reply:

"In older decks, I have seen that thin rubber washer, but not in late production. I don’t think it was a separate part, it does not show on the service manual. The MK7 feet we sell do not have washers.

I sell damping washers I call foot lifters, which are useful in correcting for the sag that occurs over time in stock feet.

But it just looks like a basic rubber washer which you should be able to find with a simple google search.

So it seems definitely like if they made them for a while then stopped, they weren't needed. I could always use 'Isonoe' type foam bushings potentially.
But, they do not seem to have any positive or negative effect so I'll do away with them (or not feel bad that I only have 3 of them haha)!

If Technics made them, then stopped, obviously they aren't that useful!

If your local hardware outlet has the small parts drawers setup (Hillman, etc.) then look for neoprene washers.

If the OEM were actually threaded, and used to lock in adjusted height, (and happen to be 1/4-20) then photo tripod jam nuts/lock nuts would be there. Thicker than a washer, and chances of being 1/4-20 on a Japanese TT are pretty slim...
