I like their approach:

"Now, here is the deal. We do not expect a million dollars for this item, we started that high so we would not get undercut. WE WANT OFFERS!!!! We know what this pristine machine is worth to us, but want to see what it is worth to you!! Too rare to accurately put a price tag on. EVERY OFFER with be reviewed and considered."

Cool find for sure...

I guess we know how somebody is planning on funding his next Mac purchase! :D

Interesting to me that the referenced thread contains posts by a member that has "moved on" and one that was banned! :scratch2:

Doesn't look factory sealed to me. Looks like it's been restapled shut. Why are there staple marks missing staples next to the remaining staples? I've never seen a box from the factory with so many staple marks and yet so few staples. :scratch2:

Technics RS-1500 for $1,000,000.00?

This must be the most crazy price tag put on a Technics piece of hardware. the guy doesn't expect to get that money, just a catchy price to draw attention - I suppose.

I wonder if there is another factory sealed RS-1500 on the planet, somewhere.

Also, in case you guys didn't notice, that is not a factory sealed box. some staples are missing and others have been pulled through the box. I'd tell the seller, but I am sure he doesn't give a hoot.

Just how picky are you going to be for $1,000,000? :D

Ok, I don't know about you but I am always leary of anything sealed. I quite buying sealed records after discovered a cracked one (it was only $1 but still), not to mention being sealed often had adverse reactions to the paper sleeve.

This bad boy could be indeed mint shape, or someone could have dropped it at some point, or a capacitor could have leaked all over the inside or whatever. The bearings could be rusty or any number of problems. Anyway, I would pay more for an open one that has been in continous use but well maintained that a sealed one anyday.

...you're assuming it isnt a giant brick. the box has evidence of tampering.

I never buy any "used" gear without a visual inspection, this would be no different. it'd be coming out of that box prior to purchase or I wouldnt buy it.
