Hi out there .....

I've noticed, that on many pictures of Technis things, you can read the text as TECHNICS by panasonic ... i have had many of their products through the years, none had the "by panasonic" written after the TECHNICS

is it a US phenomena ?

edit: here in this part of europe Technics clearly was the top brand, and panasonic was aimed at the low end of the consumermarket.

Just looked at my two pieces. Technics SL-1401 TT I bought new in 1979 (I think) and a Technics RS-615 cassette deck. Both say "by Panasonic" on them.

IIRC "Technics by Panasonic" was a transitional thing, when the Technics brand was new. Once the Technics brand was established, the "by Panasonic" was dropped.

I can understand that - also it could have been depending on marketing issues - i just never saw the "by Panasonic" on Technics things sold here

bought some Technics stuff back in mid 70" - like the SA5460, and a tapedeck RS276, none had the "by panasonic"

well - just a blast from the past thing :)

edit: couldn't resist from lurking .. on some swedish makretplaces, there was tapedecks with the "by pana...." and some without - those decks was on the market at the same time. strange thing, guess it just is "a thing one should'nt think further of"
