Technics double casette deck problem

Hi everyone. I have a Technics RS-T11 double casette deck and the problem is that when i reverse the casette sometimes it just doesn't want to spin. Or sometimes it spins hard..

I tried with several casettes and it makes no diffrence. Otherwise it plays fine without any problems!

Now i'm not planning to keep it but i would like to fix it in order to get a better price for it.

Any suggestions?

you'd better hope that it isn't the take up idler gear losing teeth...see here

UPDATE

I found the problem! There's nothing wrong with the casette deck.. just had a few tapes that weren't played in a long time! It works as it should now!

No it's fine! I purchased another Technics tape deck that's a RS-T22 and works like new.. just like the RS-T11 exept better

Anyway i'll put the RS-T11 on sale soon.

As i wrote in the previous post the problem was a few casettes that weren't used in a while!

I have a technics RS-TR155 double cassette deck. The record deck wont play in the forwards direction because of this gear problem

Update:

It's now sold.. i brought a RS-T22 wich is better and works as new..

The problem I have with those is that they are not built to last. The motor is the size of a walkman's motor. I had one ( a Technics) and i used to make tapes for my choir and they would burn out. I don't remember the model number

I had an RS-TR155 a while ago.

That deck and another Technics dual deck both developed a repetitive clicking noise due to the gear breaking down. The 155 actually got progressively worse. Thanks, Technics, for sullying your reputation with these pieces of junk. :thumbsdn:

I also got a 1979 Pioneer CT-506 casette deck and it's more powerful than my 80's technics plastic deck.. but hell id rather choose a 80's technics stereo than a modern junk that's not made in Japan!
