Technics EPC-205C mk III

I have acquired a Technics EPC-205C mk III on eBay. It is the version with integrated SME mount, and it came without stylus.

Now I am looking for a good replacement - one the will bring me decently close to the original sound. Does anyone have experience that they want to share?

Jico could be a good candidate. They have various type of replacements, some SAS and some not. And the SAS types come with Boron, Sapphire, or Ruby cantilevers. Any thoughts on the relative merits of these?

Finally, I plan to use the cart on my Pioneer PL-L1000. Unless of course anyone advises against it with reasonable arguments?

Just a couple of weeks ago there was a long thread about the Jico stylus for your cartridge. You'll find it easily if you look for it. I think AKer CafeLatte started it, IIRC.

You're relatively new here — welcome, and congrats on the great new cartridge. AK has covered many topics in the past, and it's always a good idea to look for them before posting a new question — the old threads are thorough and authoritative.

That thread is not of much use to me. It is mostly about refurbishing an existing stylus.

I have no stylus to refurbish, so..

^^ Not the thread I was referring to. Cafe Latte ended up buying the new Jico you are considering, and is very happy with it. Search again, it's more recent.

I said there are lots of thread on AK covering many topics. I did not say they're always easy to find.
