Technics legendary classic tuners/receivers 6.3 v stereo pilot...

lamp replcement. I recently replaced this lamp (along with the wide band IF lamp) in my ST 9030 with a LED. This worked well and I am going to do the same with my ST 8600 stereo pilot lamp. This replaces the 6.3 v 40 ma bulb that is used in mid to late 70's Technic tuners/receivers directly with a ultra long lasting 10 ma LED
This is a simple unpug from mounting hole, snip, resolder and plug back in place.

Just wondering how many and what colors I need to order. :scratch2: Chuck

Guess I'll just get a few extra reds and yellows and post them in the classifieds

Interesting idea. I'll need to replace two such lamps on 9060 power amps and I think they must be the same.
Did you use a limiter resistor in series with the LED? If so, what value?

These are 5v forward voltage, 10 v max, so they work nicely on the 6 volt applications noted as a direct replacement.

I'll check, but I think my SU 8600 power on is already a LED.....the above circuits were in DC collector paths. Chuck
