Technics RS-714US - Any info?

Hey everyone, a few days ago I picked up a new in box Technics by panasonic RS-714US.
I bought the machine for $300 including a box of tapes & demagnetizer (and a jar containing a mystery, but mint, TT stylus!), from a guy I know.. who pulled it from someones attic.
This thing is H-E-A-V-Y. Built like a tank.

I currently am recapping the machine after seeing tons and tons of dust inside. Evidently It was used but sat mostly...
Saw 2 burned RIFA caps, and am also going to have to fabricate my own pinch roller lever as mine has weakened in its age and is crumbling. Can't find parts anywhere.
The boards are a pain to get to, even after pulling them out. Needed to be done though, there are *lots* of cold solder joints.

Does anyone know anything about these? I can't find hardly anything about it, minus specifications and a service manual. Anyone ever had one? memories? Just curious as to what I've got.

Used to have one. I have been told that these were TEAC OEM. I tend to believe that's true (but I do not know).

I didn't invest much effort in it -- but I was tempted :)
It did function (FWIW), but it was kinda battered.

Oh good! How did you like it?
Also, I wonder if that would mean any part compatibility.... I'm in the process of fabricating my own pinch roller arm, but being able to find an actual OEM one would be great.
This is my first RTR, so I'm really excited to get this thing back to it's former glory. I've got my first prerecorded album coming in the mail soon too, so I'd better hurry up. :)

Must not have looked too hard. Punched in the model and I got a bunch of info, here and elsewhere. Regardless I think this was near the top of the Technics lineup back in the day.

Ah, my bad. I'd done some searching and found a parts list/service manual and a mention of it here and there, but not a nice variety of opinions on it like, say, many TEAC or Akai models.

One of the things I read while searching was that there were made or sourced by TEAC. Not sure if that's a fact but a tapeheads member who seems pretty knowledgeable indicate such.
