Technics RS-858us Variants

I recently got back into 8 Track/Q8 and picked up a Technics RS-858us deck that is pretty nice. This deck must have been stored for a long time as almost all linkages were stuck tight and could not move. Cleaned up the linkages and the transport mechanisms are fully free in function. I have belts on order and am recapping the power supply. Backlights are blue and need to have a couple replaced with OEM's but rubber mounts for the lamps are hard as a rock and LED's may be in order. I have downloaded a Service Manual from HiFi Engine but both the SM and operators manual with the same name does not discuss the RS-858us but is for the RS-858DUS. The intro on the manuals mentions that there is a previous version of the RS-858DUS and refer to that manual for the RS-858us. The issue here is I can't find these manuals and there is a switch next to the record button labeled "NOISE SUPPRESSOR". I have been unsuccessful in locating any information on how and when to use this feature. Anyone know the history and the purpose of the Noise Suppressor? A couple of Pix included for reference.

There’s a guy on YouTube who has several variants of this player.
Rock & Roll Hi-Fi Guy is his channel name. You may be able to message him for info. I watch his channel and he is really into the quad 8 track stuff.

Nomadsoul=> Thanks for the tip. Went to U-Tube and he has a video on my model that he is working on. Gives some history on the unit that helps. Also finally tracked down an operators manual.
