Technics SA-400 Receiver Sound Output Issues with Phono Setting

Recently had issues with right side speaker output (both main and remote). Sound would get fuzzy then go out only on the right side. When I connected speakers to the left side it would sound perfectly fine. When speakers are connected to the right side and I gave the top of the receiver a heaver tap with my finger, I could get sound to come back on. If I jiggled the speaker wires by the right output connections I could typically get sound to come back on but in all cases the sound would inevitably go back out. This issue only happens on the phono setting and if I switch to AM/FM the issue doesn't exist.

I cleaned the inside of the relay and rest of the inside with DeoxIt D5 and dusted with a q-tip. This situation continues even after the heavy cleaning. The relay is not fused from overheating.

The issue has gotten worse as the sound, even when both speakers are connected to the left side, gets very fuzzy then just goes silent. This only happens on the phono setting. When I have a record playing on phono, I can change the setting to aux then switch back to phono and sometimes that "reset" will get the phono setting to sound fine. I can also turn the receiver off then back on and get the sound to come back. However all these tricks only give temporary results as the sound will go out.

Any advice on how to repair this issue is greatly appreciated!

Check for a bad connection somewhere. The whole "tapping on it makes it come back" seems like a clue. Take the lid off and start tapping with a pencil or plastic stick...
 
Sqlsavior, you're correct about the input selector switch needing attention. I sprayed DeoxIt within the small grooves of this piece and things are currently sounding as they should. I currently have stereo sound from both sides of the speaker outputs and no fuzzy/fading sound as I continue to play records. I'm going to tentatively say my issue is resolved until it proves me otherwise.

sqlsavior was right. Many times input selectors can be the issue but I got thrown off with the part about it coming back while tapping. Glad that you figured it out...
