Technics SA-510 Help

Hello all,
I recently acquired a Technics SA-510 and have been able to successfully hook up a record player and cassette player to the system. However, I simply cannot get my DVD player (JVC Theatre System TH-A35) to connect so I can play my CD’s through the system and out to my speakers. I have tried what I think is every possible combination with the red and white wires but I am stuck on why no sound is coming out.
Thanks in advance!

Do you have enough inputs on the Technics? Pics of the rear maybe?

Yes, you should be able to use your DVD player as a regular CD player. I am also currently using a DVD player for both DVD's and CD's in my stereo only system.

You can check to see if your DVD player itself is producing sound from its red and white wires by plugging them into the cassette player inputs.

Welcome to AK.

Looking pictures of a "JVC Theatre System TH-A35" shows the unit doesn't have any audio output, just powered outputs direct to the speakers. The RCA connectors at the back are INPUTS, labeled "ANALOG IN".

EDITED: the "S-Video" connector doesn't carry an audio signal.

I suggest you to read the "JVC Theatre System TH-A35" user manual for details about the connections at the back.
