Technics SA 800

Hi everyone, I recently purchased a Technics SA 800 at a yard sale. Volume Control is terribly noisy so I’d like to DeoxIT all the controls. But I can’t seem to remove the necessary covers. Does someone who has experience with this let me know the right process? I downloaded the Service Manual but it only shows how to remove the top cover. Thanks in advance for your help.

If the is like other SA-X00 models, it may be that you need to remove the shroud that the lights are mounted in to access the controls

If you do mind revealing how much you paid I'm curious as a recent acquisition of mine is also the SA800

Was able to disassemble this unit... but I am pretty mechanically inclined. It not easy but not impossible if you are meticulous.

Have recently rebuilt mine... thread above. Have a component list as well. Old VRs / trimmers should be changed.

Check the offset and bias. Best of luck.

RO. I think what the knowledgeable people (one of which, I am not) are tryong to tell you is that IF you can bridge your unit, it will not be stereo anymote, it will become a mono amp. I think you are chasing a rainbow. If you want more power, probably should buy another amp.
 
Hate to admit it, but I had a feeling this was the case. I thought I would ask just in case before I go spending money on a different set up. I very much appreciate the time and input from everyone on this. Have a good Sunday!
