I recently was given a Technics SA-GX303 that didn't work. The amplifier had one of the large caps blown out and upon fixing it sound came out of it again. But as is typical with old electronics, there is never just one thing.
In this case, it is the tuner. When in tuner mode, the system will try to scan any channel on the radio dial with no success. I tried it with both AM and FM with the same results to both. Nothing. I had antennas with both.
Considering there isn't something as obvious as a buckled capacitor on the tuner board, I figured I would ask here for some possible first things to check. I have the service manual with schematics but not much in that manual in the way of a trouble shooting guides.
