Technics SB-CD977 Speakers ??

Hi AK community.
I doubt I'll get any responses to this one but does anyone know anything about the Technics SB-CD977 speakers, literally all I've been able to work out is that they're from the late 90s and most likely near the top of the SB-CDXXX line.

Any information on these would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance :)

Have you seen this thread? From the pics they look more show than go, but they might sound decent. There's a reason that Technics isn't generally mentioned when talking about quality speakers; they have made a few high-end models over the years, but most of them were made to look, rather than sound, impressive.

Are they already in your possession?
 
Thanks for your reply and advice @swechsler, yeah I passed on them as I couldn't find enough info about them and the seller was being pretty vague about how they sounded. This is actually my first vintage Hifi system I'm putting together at the moment so learning a bunch along the way. I've found some B&W DM10s locally instead which seem to be a safer bet. Going to go check them out tomorrow.
 
Probably a wise move. Take a look at some pics online of any speakers you're considering. Make sure no drivers have been changed. If something looks off, make a post here before purchasing.
