Technics SB6000 - tweeter issue

Greetings,

I have an issue with one of the tweeters,
the problem is that tweeter activates somewhere between level 9 and level 10.

I have checked the board and found power resistors which were cracked and replaced them, but still no luck.

Can someone help with what should I check next?

Assuming this refers to the position of VR-1, VR-1 needs a good cleaning or replacement.

Whether VR-1 is a potentiometer or L-pad will determine exactly how to go about cleaning.

If another SB6000 owner doesn't chime in, you may need to post a pic for us to best advise how to proceed.

The service manual is available at hifiengine, but gives no indication of exactly what VR-1 is beyond the original part number which will probably be useless today.
 
Thank you, that was my next step also, I wanted an extra advice on that.

It would be nice if someone knows the real value of the pot, or even where to find an aftermarket replacement in case this one is busted.
I can compare it with my working one also.
