Technics SH-E75 hissing

Hi all,

I have a TECHNICS SH-E75 graphic equaliser, have it from new in 1990.

It's connected to a YAMAHA amp and it's hissing all the time. It works, sounds great but at low volume there is a hiss.
If I bypass the equaliser, the hiss goes. It doesn't get louder if I up the volume. Th ehiss is the same on both channels.

Any ideas ?

Thanks

Pete.

Usually that comes with dirty controls. Gain access to the equalizer controls and spray them with some DeoxIT D5, working the controls fully after spraying. It would be a good idea to apply Faderlube afterwards.

There are no controls as such, it's all electronic. It's definately componant related, noisy transistor or something like that, but which one ?

Sorry I can't help narrow the problem, just wanted to add,in my experience this is a common problem with Technics EQ's.
I have had a few with this same issue, didn't have them fixed, just sold them off as needing work and stopped buying the brand.
