technics sl 1200 mk2 strobe light dim

I have a sl 1200 mk2 with a very dim strobe light. I was wondering if I should replace the lights themselves or if I'd be better of doing a recap first. I can't really find much online about replacing the strobe lights on the sl 1200, what kind of neon bulbs should I get?

I would recommend you make sure all functions work before any recap is attempted.

There’s a very good LED kit for the strobe. I have used these on quite a few 1200’s that have come through here.

Ok for anyone who also wants to try a similar mod/repair I just bought some normal LEDs and they worked just fine.
