I have a Technics SL-1200MK3D. In very good condition.

In attempting to get the metal 45 adapter to fit onto a 45, I realized I was putting pressure on the turntable plate.
!0 to 15 lbs. of pressure for a few seconds. I know the 1200's are built like tanks but just wondering if that might have caused any damage. Thanks!

Meh. (Probably) no big deal.

I would put 45 adapter on first and the record onto it. If too tight, sand the 45 hole a tad.

The turntable is running fine but good to know should I have any issues in the future.

Get rid of that original Techie 45 adaptator. It's crap. All record collectors and dee-jay's know that. These do break records. Buy one of those aftermarket cone thing. The 'cone' versions are rather conveniant I find for a swift 7" record drop and pick-up. They can be had cheap in their simplests form or a bit more for fancier and heavier versions.

The original thrust plate is quite strong but not indestructible. I bought a second hand M5G and when I inspected the thrust plate, there was damage to it as if the spindle took a hard down hit. It had a dent in it. Out it went and in with the KAB. Piece of cake.

+1 for the KAB. I found it quite an upgrade, with the wax, for little money.
