Technics SL-1300 MK2 Auto-return not working

Hello! I recently bought this Technics SL-1300 MK2, but the auto return does not trigger. At the end of the record the arm won't go back. I adjusted the screw for the auto-return, and it worked once, but the the problem came back. (pressing stop returns the arm however). And now it won't drop the arm when I press start. What could this be and how can I fix it? Help would be very much appreciated!

(the arm lift is a bit jerky as well, probably needs relubrication...)

Very common problem with this model. There is a plastic piece inside that breaks. There is a 3d printed replacement. Fair warning, it's not an easy job. Search the forums for a how-to and source for the part.
