Technics SL-1600 vs Akai Ap-306?

Hello everyone, I have a lead on both tables and was wondering which is better. The Akai has a wow and flutter of .035% and S/N of 70db. The Technics has a wow and flutter of .025% and a S/N of 73db. The Akai is quartz lock direct drive. Without getting into price the the Akai is almost half the price of the Technics. I'm wanting something quieter than the Dual 1257. Any suggestion or advice is appreciated.

Technics SL-1600 outclasses any Akai turntable in build quality, ease of service, performance, and in longevity. A trickle down from a SP-10 beats lesser DD all day long. Spend the $$$ if affordable, buy once, enjoy for many years. Built to last.

Having been twice employed by Akai dealers long ago, there are only one or two of their turntables intended for the North American market that I would consider worth having. And those are scarce and likely expensive these days.

Not that long ago, I came upon an Akai direct drive at a swap meet for $20. Don't remember if it was quartz lock or not but there was not much weight to it and it a fiberboard bottom.

I let someone else have the pleasure of ownership.
