Technics SL 1700 mkii Cueing not working

Hi all,

Have a Technics 1700 that is in great shape but had two problems, auto return and cueing button not working.

I replaced the belt and the auto return and stop works great, so I don’t think the gears or anything mechanically are the issues.

However the cueing button doesn’t raise and lower the tonearm button like it should.

Is there a list of ICs I should chance or are there any special caps to replace for this issue?

It probably is a belt that connects the motor to the cueing mechanism.

It probably is a belt that connects the motor to the cueing mechanism.

So I’ve replaced that belt. I know the motor is good. When the stop button is pressed, or the tonearm makes it to the end of the record the arm lifts, cueing raises and arm returns.

The only thing I can’t get moving is the cueing button itself for up and down.
