Technics SL-1700 plinth/base repaint?

That platter can be brought back to life trust me. On my platter it took a lot of elbow grease and time plus I had to fix some of the black on the strobe ring but the platter looks great now. can be done by using rubbing compound and different grades of sand paper i learned alot about doing finishes from the 3 tables i've done.
Cause unless you find aparts unit with a good platter, your stuck with that platter as the 1200 series I don't think will work.

Painting???

I found this guy on Epay the DJstore or bestdealonline he's got these gorgeous aluminum faceplates, black/gloss blue,red powder coat gorgeous, and I mean gorgeous , maybe this eats into profit margin? though when trying to pay bills and no job like the rest of us.... . The thing that I liked is they fit perfectly right over every switch etc; hope this helps dave b:scratch2:

Thanks for the info, looks like only for 1200 series TTs. Great Idea though.

They even have Pink for the women!
