On Craigslist I found a Sony component system. Receiver Model # = AV770X, CD player Model # = CD-C325 Cassette model # = TC-FX211 with a Technics SL-1700 turntable all in dead mint condition sitting in a finished basement for 10-12 years, manuals ECT all for $150.00 the Technics has the stock cart with a Shur M99E currently installed.

Did I do good? More info on the relaibility and quality of the SL-1700??

Reliability and quality of the SL-1700 is excellent.

Close to the top of the line for Technics at the time.

Now, is it a MK II or original?

Both are good. Slight nod to the SL-1700 MK II.

It's the first issue, non-MK II.

Nice table. It's sprung-suspension. The arm base and platter will move together, independently of the plinth.

Did it come with a finished basement! Wow!
j/k
Actually, nice find!

Super good!!! Wish mine had a dust cover...it was broke when I got it :tears:

I needed a dust cover for my SL1500 and bought a brand new one at KAB Electro for $37. The hinges won't line-up, but they sell rubber feet that fit over where the hinges are on the dust cover for $5. Making it a lift off affair. I even bought one for my Pioneer PL600 old style s-arm TT and it works well, Bob

Sweet Im gonna read the manual he gave me and do the recommended maintenance. I also forgot that I had a nice set of Fischer Studio Standard floor speakers downstairs from the early 90's! I dont have the model number but I remember they were my xmas gift one year when I was in Jr High and were REALLY expensive maybe 3-400.00 for the set. Ill update when I get home

Whats the review on the Shur cart/stylus?
