Technics SL-220 Power Issue

Hi Guys, I'm new here so I don't know if this is the right place to post this, or if I'm breaking some rules, etc. Sorry in advance if I am. So, I have a Technics SL-220 that was working fine until I stupidly plugged the thing into two separate jacks on a power strip (I plugged it into the holes for different plugs because it was dark and I couldn't see). Now I got no power at all. What do I do? Thanks in advance.

You might be in luck and have only blown a fuse. You will have to open it from the bottom to check. It will be near the power cord entry and transformer. Make sure to get the same value.
 
Thanks for the response. This was my thought as well, but I could not for the life of me find the fuse. I checked the service manual and it shows a fuse on the circuit board, but when I lifted the board I didn't see one. But in the end, I'm an idiot, and none of this matters. The turntable works fine. I thought I had blown something because I just replaced the belt and powered it on, it lit up, then stopped. Because I am unfamiliar with vintage turntables and how they work, I didn't think that it was because the tone arm had moved away from the platter back towards the rest position (I don't know my terminology, sorry). I kept plugging and unplugging it thinking it was blown because the strobe light wasn't lighting up and the platter wasn't spinning. I'm an idiot. Sorry for wasting your time. Live and learn I guess.
 
No worries. We all do stuff like that.

And your terminology is fine so far.

One preventative maintenance thing I would suggest is to lube the motor as that era of Technics belt drives have a tendency to seize up. Remove the platter and belt and get a couple of drops of oil beneath the pulley where the shaft goes into the motor body. Run it for a while after application to help draw it in.

Many oils will work. Light machine oil, bike lubes (not thick like Phil), Sewing Machine oil, even 10w30. Not WD40.

Thanks for the tip! I bought some deoxit to clean the speed pots, and I was thinking I should lube it up too, but I wasn't sure where or what. Your suggestion set me straight. Thanks friend!
